I know, David Brooks usually writes thinly veiled conservative talking points as a stand in for a real editorial, but I think he's been doing a pretty decent job with his articles about Katrina and the aftermath. Well, at least I think he's trying. Sure, there are certainly weaknesses, but I think the spirit of the articles is well intentioned. Like Brooksie says, if there's anything that we could call a silver lining coming out of the tragedy in New Orleans it's that attention has been drawn to the horrific poverty problem in America today.
It looks like the Dems are finally coming correct a bit, so maybe there's hope for some real social action.
