The Staff was really just a big stick…Anyway, it was capped by an elaborate headpiece with a carving of the sun at the top. What you had to do was take the Staff to a special map room in Tanis--it had the whole city laid out in miniature on the floor. When you placed the Staff in a certain spot in this room, at a certain time of day, the sun would shine through a hole here in the headpiece and then send a beam of light down here—to the map--giving you the location of the Well of the Souls...

Yes, I heard the same thing. I believe "Wow" was the word most used. When I heard about it, that is.
Agreed. Though I'm concerned that it will be significantly cut down if BBC America plans to air each episode in a regular hour-long time slot (with commercials). Fortunately, the DVD won't be far behind.
I've just visited the BBC America website, and if I'm reading the schedule right, it looks like they're airing a 60 minute version each night at 8:00, followed by a 75 minute version each night at 9:00. Seems like a bizarre thing to do, but at least it looks like we'll get the full content.
It starts next Monday, July 20, and it will continue throughout the week, wrapping up on Friday, July 24.
Good! Then we can finally be able to watch it! (cough)
Ugh, that was me...
I dvr'd it earlier. So we'll have the 75 min version!
