Ok, you guys know how this works by now. Use the comments to this post to discuss anything about tomorrow's Video Game Night. If you're not going to be able to play at 8 Eastern, post when you'll be arriving. If you voted "Other" in the poll, let us know what game you wanted to vote for. Ideas for the Week 4 poll are also appropriate, though in all likelihood I suspect we'll be playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, since it is getting released on Tuesday.
Also, the reviews for NHL 10 are starting to be released, with more probably being published tomorrow in anticipation of its release. Since "an NHL game" won a spot as a core game in that initial poll, we should talk about which version people think we should get. NHL 10 will have all the newest features and refinements (I think First Person Fighting is one of the big bullet points for this edition), but once it's released NHL 09 will probably drop to around $20. So read some reviews and let us know what you think we should do.

Well, Video Game Night: Week 3 was pretty fun, though only Drew, Jay, and I showed up. Since we didn't really have enough people to play Team Fortress 2 (at least, not without having to allow random internet douches to join us), we opted to play GTA IV.
Now, I'm totally disappointed that we're in Week 3 and pretty much only Drew, Jay, and I are showing up despite the initial interest that folks had. I know, some of you out there have busted boxes, so you're forgiven. Still, I think there's a strength to VGN shown here: all of us knew to show up on Monday night expecting to play games and in the end we got to have a pretty good time playing games. We also had the initial commitment to play The Orange Box, one of our core games, but when we showed up we came up with another plan using a non-standard game. I really hope that eventually we get ten people or more on VGNs and just that sort of thing happens. Some people play the chosen game, say Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 which comes out tomorrow and is a four player game, while other people decide to grab a non-standard game and do that.
The point of all of this was to set a time when people knew there would be some gaming, and that's happening. It's not happening with enough people yet, but I've played more video games in the last three weeks than I probably did in the year previous, and so far it's been pretty fun.
