Twelve days to go
and things are looking pretty damn good, I'd say. Note that no single `outlined' state has enough EVs to bring Bush up to 270, but there are plenty of combinations of two that do it, and even more combinations that will bring Kerry below 270. So I'm still going to predict that there won't be a President-elect until 2 December, and even later if Kerry has an advantage early on in the vote-counting.

Don't tempt the Greedmaster. The Greedmaster is great and terrible. He sees that you, in your your arrogance, have made a prediction about the Future. He knows your heart, and he knows that you desire that your prediction should come true. He will trick you, and send you polls of every variety (even Gallup!) to bolster your prediction. But then He will send devious Republican election lawyers to key swing states, and He will bring forth "irregularities" in other swing states, and He will twart your prediction to teach you humility.
I know what I'm talking about. I predicted Democratic gains in 2002. The Greedmaster exacted a terrible punishment: he brought the Iraq War Authorization to a vote in Congress. My prediction was torn to tatters, and James Carville put a garbage pail over his head live on CNN.
Listen well to the warning I bring you. Listen, and heed what I say. The Greedmaster is powerful and unpredictable. We must fear the Greedmaster, and take care never to tempt him with our pride.
Well, then we just need to do with the Greedmaster what Peter did to Death in that episode of Family Guy: run him over with a car, keeping him from smacking the Democratic party down next month.
Now if only grad student money let me afford both food and car ...
Yeah, that would work.
